Marty Spargo has been interested in and active in crypto since 2013 and has seen a lot of the industry’s ups and downs since then.

From watching bags 100x to getting rugged by exchanges, he’s been around the industry longer than most.

Marty also spent years working as a professional market maker, trading options and futures on Japanese derivatives markets. Previously one of the single biggest Nikkei market makers, he once accounted for 3% of the total screen-traded volume of all Nikkei 225 options, trading thousands of option contracts a day.

More recently, Marty has taken a deep interest in prediction markets and the way they may be transformative to the news industry, as well as being interesting and useful hedges or ways to generate yield, not merely as a “gambling mechanism” as many people see them.
